The IRCCC was established in response to the Itaewon disaster of 2022 to serve as a global platform dedicated to advancing human safety. Our mission is to collect diverse perspectives on public safety—across social classes, borders, and disciplines—while remaining independent of academic, political, or social bias.
Disasters like Itaewon remind us that even in advanced societies, critical safety gaps remain. IRCCC seeks to transform such tragedies into opportunities for progress—by fostering collaboration among experts, practitioners, and citizens, and by promoting objective, evidence-based dialogue.
Through international exchange, transparent communication, and ongoing research, we aim to prevent future disasters and build a safer, more resilient world. We invite all to join us in this mission and use our platform as a hub for knowledge, cooperation, and hope.
